Deanna is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who earned her M.A. in Clinical Mental Health through Liberty University. Deanna has over ten years of experience working with children, adults, and families in areas of abuse, poverty, substance use, trauma, parenting, behavior issues, and life transitions. Deanna is certified in the Foundation of Infant Mental Health and is currently pursuing certification in Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), an intervention model for children aged 0-6 who have experienced at least one traumatic event and/or are experiencing mental health, attachment, and/or behavioral problems, including posttraumatic stress disorder. Therapeutic sessions include the child and parent or primary caregiver. The primary goal of CPP is to support and strengthen the relationship between a child and his or her caregiver as a vehicle for restoring the child’s cognitive, behavioral, and social functioning.
Deanna’s approach to counseling is relational and strengths oriented, partnering with clients to work towards their goals and potential. Deanna is dedicated to understanding client’s concerns and helping them find effective ways to cope with them. Deanna is committed to integrating spiritual values and beliefs into the counseling process to the extent that clients desire as finding a balance in mind, body, spirit, and community is one of the best ways to restore health and well-being.
